Blood Bowl lives
It's been a mere 15 months after my last post here. Not bad going methinks. Anyway, I just did my roughly bi-monthly check of the Cyanide Forums today and found that they recently showed off a very early version of Blood Bowl. No gameplay, just some awesome graphics. Check it out at Jeux Video.

Goodby Chaos League, hello Blood Bowl

It's just been announced that Cyanide and Games Workshop have patched things up over Blood Bowl, resulting in Cyanide getting the licence to produce three Blood Bowl titles. The press release:

Games Workshop (LSE: GAW), and Cyanide are excited to announce that Cyanide are now the official licensed developer for a series of triple A titles based upon Games Workshop's popular Blood Bowl fantasy football property.

More details of the first Blood Bowl title and publisher to follow shortly!

Any differences between Games Workshop and Cyanide have been amicably settled for an undisclosed sum, and as part of the settlement the Chaos League title has been assigned to Games Workshop.

There are no plans to develop or release any further Chaos League titles or supplements.

Site back up

After a LONG period of downtime, the site is back up.

The reason for the disappearance was that I moved servers and then had trouble getting the 1.5GB of data onto the new hosting without corrupting in transit. I've also been busy as ever, so it took a bit of a back-seat for a while too I'm afraid.

Anyway, it should all work again now :)

Nurgle's Rotters
Usual story of files getting lost in the ether (i.e. my to-do list) I'm afraid, so apologies to Dr_duck for the delay in getting his excellent Nurgle's Rotters skin added, but here it is!

Chaos League on your mobile

Digital Jesters have just announced a deal with Buongiorno-Vitaminic to bring a number of titles to your mobile (cell) phone and top of the list is Chaos League.

Buongiorno will work on the port of Cyanide's fantasy football game and it'll hopefully be one to keep an eye on.

BLITZ 25 and beta patch

I've been overly busy since the beta was released (I've barely had a chance to play it) and as a result have been slow getting news on here about issue 25 of Dr_duck's great bi-weekly BLITZ magazine. Check it out - as always plenty of great info on the world of Chaos League.

In beta-related news, _toms of Cyanide just posted on the DJ forums an hour ago to provide a link to an English patch for the Sudden Death beta.

The link was on Cyanide's connection-limited FTP again, so we've mirrored it here in case Cyanide's server gets clogged up.

Now that the English-speaking fans of CL can understand what's going on in the beta we'll hopefully see a bit more action and reaction.

Beta download (at last)

Yep, after much todo I have a download for you.

By lucky coincidence I was planning to move servers over the weekend so we have two servers to host the download with for the first couple of days which should help spread the load (though I still won't be surprised if both get hammered).

So, choose a download link and enjoy!

Download 1

Sudden Death beta update

Having spoken to Digital Jesters, the UK publisher of Chaos League, it's been agreed that CLP will be the UK mirror for the beta test (yes, the server's in America, but you get the idea :p).

It is however, an extremely strict condition that no-one else mirrors the file. People are free to download either from here or the French side, but the devs need to be able to track how many downloads the beta gets, so if you mirror it, don't be surprised if you get in serious trouble.

After that light-hearted point, here's the link. I'll be adding a second CLP download shortly to spread the load as we have 2 servers for the next couple of days.

Link soon!

Update: There was a problem with the beta file - we'll have the proper version asap!

'Open' beta released

The beta has been put online at last, but for the time being we're not allowed to mirror it, so you'll have to just use the link in the thread on the French forums.

As soon as we can, we'll have our own download mirror(s).

Beta starts today!

A day later than planned, the open beta of Chaos League: Sudden Death will start this lunchtime.

Focus (the French publishers of the game) representative trandber posted on their forums that the beta will go live at 1:30 today (12:30 UK time).

CLP will be providing at least one, possibly two, mirrors for the beta so keep an eye out over lunch time ;)
